Ahhhh now I can tell my wife to stop sibilareing at me!

As I have said in the past my spanish is not very good. But I can get by. However with certain people I cannot understand a word they say not one!. My brother in laws wife for instance. I have never understood a word she says. And I don't know why. When we are in company it's not so bad, I can get the gist of the conversation from everyone else, but one on one, my eyes glaze over and my brain shuts down.
