Can anybody tell me the difference between a calima and a scirrocco? You have to sweep the red sand from the balcony more often in a calima...
I remember many years ago when the rains brought the red Saharan sand to the London area, every car looked red and dusty.
Today in Kent the cloud blanket has not moved. The temperature is rising and it's really humid and uncomfortable. We need some good thunderstorms to clear it all.
I remember last August when we were travelling to Tenerife. The plane rose from Gatwick and climbed above the cloud barrier; there was spontaneous clapping because we hadn't seen the sun for weeks. Don't like it too hot though which is why we prefer the other times of year in Tenerife.
