CAFE PAR - is a family run restaurant, owned by Sue & Andy & ably assisted by their three daughters.
The venue is reminiscent of a devon tea rooms, with checked cloths & a clean bright & airy atmosphere. A conservatory outside provides more room for diners, & an ideal spot for a future quiz night..???
The food however is much more varied than a cream tea.. Two deli counters line the front of the kitchen, where you can choose from fresh meats, whole cooked hams fresh salads, and home made steak, chicken pies & pasties.
Home made desserts such as rhubarb crumble, & apple pies fill the third cooler..
We opted for garlic mushrooms starters, & Roy a prawn cocktail, with a huge amount of prawns. Then fish & chips with mushy peas, in home made batter, which made my mouth water looking at it, & it tasted even better, yum... John had the liver bacon & onions on mashed potato, & licked the plate clean ( so to speak).
So full up we couldn't manage desserts, but the boys did buy some pies to take away at 1euro each..
Our bill including free house vino ( for forum card holders) & two beers came to 34 euro excellant value for such great food & pleasant service..
