Re: Diet Thread! Not to get too complicated but to lose or gain weight is all about "input and output" of energy. If a woman takes in more calories (2000 is the recommended intake to maintain health) than she expends she will probably gain weight, if she eats less she will probably lose weight. For men it is approx 2500 calories per day. I believe these figures may have change over the last month or so according to a medical report on the BBC.
Working out a "healthy balanced "diet" for either going up or down in weight is up to the individual. But restriction on the intake of saturated fats, added sugars, salt and alcohol is desirable. Just to add, there has been times when I ate in the region of 7000 calories per day to do what I needed to do...but I will not bore you with the details. Going to slimming clubs etc can be helpful by way of moral support from other members.
It is really all about the balance as far as your eating habits are concerned, along with your overall lifestyle. |
