that's an excellent idea, janet, and should be very useful for anybody considering moving here! after all, as a tourist on holiday here, you life a different life-style while here

annual rates etc. really depend on whether you own a place; if you rent, things like basura (rubbish collection tax) or community fees should be down to the owner, so aren't applicable

my 2cents worth re: eating out, which hubby and i do at least once a week: unless you eat in tourist places (i.e. as soon as you go away from las américas and most places in los cristianos), you can calculate about 30 euros for 2 people (bread for starters, 2 main courses, some water and a litre of wine), 40 euros tops (unless, of course, if you go to a posher place where it can be much more). so 120-160 euros a month (as i say, if you do this once a week), 1440-1920 euros per year (and doesn't this figure make you think twice?! it seems like a lot of money... then again, i couldn't imagine eating in 365 days a year)
