Default Loro Park

The offical web site in English is here

In English, it gives all the information you need, the attaractions, entrance fees, the various show times, a park map etc.

This is a great whole day out for all the family, my advice is take a snack or two or be prepared to pay inflated prices inside for food & drink, allow a whole day for this trip, so you can fit in all the shows, Killer whales, parrots, seals & see planet penguin - ice world.

Signs from the motorway are good too.

The behind the scenes tour is worth doing as well....you can book at the entrance and it takes 1.3/4 hours but at 9 euros I thought it was excellent

It is a magical place. Superb grounds, wonderful gardens, the animals look happy ... the apes are incredible. But it's the shows that make the day: sea lions, tropical birds, whales, and the dolphins ... will make you cry it's so touchingly beautiful.

Absolutely worth every cent. If you think the penguinarium is incredible, wait until you see underneath it.

We went 2005 & 06 and skipped 07. Maybe due another visit in 2008.

Default I can't find it

These are the directions someone gave me on how to get to Loro Park.
Stay on Motorway until turn off for Carrefore, instead of going on the inside lane, stay on outside lane. Follow road round over a bridge (forgotten the rest)

Anyway doesn't matter because I can't find it I had a practice run at the weekend ready for grandsons arrival next week. Got to carrefore turn off, stayed in outside lane which then put me immediately back on motorway for a few yards then took me round a bend over a bridge then nothing! no signs.

Help! what am I doing wrong, why is it not clearly signposted all the way there?
I do not want to spend my time lost and I can see that happening. I do not want to waste time on a coach when I drive.
Please someone give me step by step instructions with landmarks, junction numbers etc on how to get there (pretend you are teaching a child ) don't suggest a map definately not my strong point.

You were on the right track LTS. When you go round the right hand bend then over the bridge you come to a roundabout at the other side. Take the first exit from that roundabout and you will then be on a dual carriageway. This is the one the takes you up past Ikea. Stay on that road until the end then keep to the left hand lane at the end. It will take you through a tunnel and you will join the TF5 for Puerto de la Cruz. Stay on that mortorway all the way to Puerto de la Cruz.

Perhaps someone else can now pick up the directions once you get to Puerto as it's almost 2 years since I drove to the Loro park?

The problem with the Carrefour junction is that they've recently been doing new works on the motorway, so any old signs will be misleading anyway.

Once you get to Carrefour, do what Dude says ... and you're looking for signs for La Laguna.

This sounds a loooong way! thanks for clear instructions so far. So going back to the tunnel, has anybody got step by step where I go from the beginning of tunnel. Do I actually have to go through the tunnel in the left hand lane, what will it say Puerto de la cruz or La Laguna? and where from there.

Why don't you just take an excursion - sooooooo much easier (and you can have a drink while you are there ha ha)
