hmmmm...the only explanation i can somehow find is that indeed it was just the internet explorer sign , the "done thingy" on the bottom of the browser and a link in the browser pointing to facebook as such while she was doing some online work...

Thanks Nic, you know what I'm like, I freak out when it comes to strange things being on my computer and I was worried when the Lady told me about it. I won't settle though until I know what it is .......... even if it is nothing.
well, see that every time a page finished to load, but on the bottom of the browser.
Thanks fore the screen dump Cinnamon, I suppose you could say that was above the start button, but only if you're running the browser full screen and not windowed.
Still doesn't show the little 'e' though, but certainly explains the black 'done' IE does not show a 'done'.
I never thought of it being on the status bar of the browser.
