Supporters will be aware this is the same venue as the highly successful Cats Aid event held on 29th August.
There will be Raffle, Tombola, Sale of K9 merchandise such as T Shirts, Christmas Cards, Key Rings, & Fridge Magnets, in addition to the highly original Calendars with 12 of the cute and cheeky pups from the K9 kennels in imaginative poses.
Nikki Attree who carried out the photography will be in attendance with her camera and will be pleased to discuss her work with dogs and her camera.
A full evening of varied entertainment is planned so if you are an artist reading this and you can spare 30 minutes of your time for a good cause, we would love to hear from you.:tiphat:

Our very first fund-raising event was a huge success. Due to the efforts of all involved, we generated a whopping €1,435.00 on the day! This was boosted from our already impressive €835 to the amazing total by an incredibly generous donation of €600 from Doreen.

That will cover the cost of TTVNR for at least fourteen cats - but as we'll be working with bulk quantities, we may get even better pricing.

This is the numbers to call if you find a dog abandonned on the streets, the local police will inform Protection Civil who will collect the dog and take it to the appropriate legal dog refuge where dog will immediately recieve medical care/ treatment, de fleed, wormed, castrated/sterilised, microchipped, recieve the necessary injections including rabies and issued with its passport. If the dog is microchipped then the owner will be contacted and the dog returned or the owner proscecuted if the dog has been abandonned or ill treated. If you really want to help the situation here in Tenerife then we all need to work in a legal and correct way. Every dog collected by Protection Civil is paid for by the ayunimiento in which the dog is found.

On sunday the 5th of september at 4pm we are holding an afternoon tea event at the refuge. Everyone is welcome to join us. We will take some of the refuge or your own dogs for a gentle stroll down to the beach followed by a guided tour of this amazing refuge so you can see the brilliant work Marion and her dedicated team of workers do, followed by afternoon tea, the homemade cakes are delicious. Then the dog agility course will be open to have some fun with the dogs. There is no charge for this event but a few euros in the pot would be welcomed by the dogs towards the new quiet area thats being built.
On thursday the 16th of september we are launching in conjunction with Danni Byrne of Tenerife Fitness a new keep fit club with your dog. Its aim is to get owners and there dogs more physical and mental stimulation. We intend to start with a couple of walks starting at the Arona Grand in Los Cristianos going on to do various agility games with your dog to get your heart rate up and both of you moving. Its a fun way to get fit for both parties and it will boast your metablism and burn off more calories. Its also a great way for your dog and yourself to socialise more and make new friends. Accion Del Sol is open to the public monday- friday 3-6 pm. Marion is always looking for volunteers to walk the dogs. Accion Del Sol is situated next to ITER Exit 51 on the TF1 and head for the windmill farm, the refuge is directly under the windmills.
