Default Paraguayo´s

Has anybody tried this fruit, it is called paraguayo I don´t know the english translation. they are like a cross between a peach and an apple although a bit smaller. I really like them but I´d never seen them before, you can get them in Mercadona

bought some from los agaves tuesday ...they have all gone now ..... delicious, had them in the bottom drawer in the fridge .....so juicy and cold, a lovely quencher of a fruit ..........

paraguayo: a type of flattened freestone peach, also called the doughnut peach (paraguayo is a Spanish word that means 'relating to Paraguay')...

Yes we've bought them in previous years. They are actually a recent mutation from a peach tree and are known in English as a flat peach. So they are a new type of peach, with the latin name:

Prunus Persica var. platycarpa (foto)

In Spanish as Paraguaya or Paraguayo

And oh they do taste lovely.

They are so juicy and peachilicious ..... also try Pera Melon ...... a tiger skin fruit with the texture of a melon and the taste of a pear ......... scrummy
