Another excellent AGM on our complex presided over by Etelina.

Meeting started prompt at 4.30pm and everybody back in the pool bar by 7.30pm for a buffet and drinks.

New president elected by an overwhelming majority 51 votes and a working committee of 6.

Still waiting further news on agenda items and AOB but so far it sounds as if everyone is happy and workable compromises have been agreed.

Peter, I've copied this to a new thread on Dinastia so as not to take the President thread off topic ... because I wanted to ask what the outcome was about the gates. Are they to be locked after all, or did common sense prevail?

Still waiting for a full report from our proxy but at the pre-meeting discussions in the bar before the meeting she reported a workable compromise had been reached and it was being suggested that the gates be self locking but the gate immediately behind the bar was to remain open during the pool bars opening hours.

Pool attendents to remain in position was a unanimous feeling around the complex residents and non residents alike she felt.

Received report from our proxy..Good meeting generally

The cctv and gates were passed on a majority vote, although I must say, Etelina suggested a compromise which is self closing with the pool bar gate being open during bar hours, which seems workable. The CCTV is just in the passage way by bar facing out with the screen to be in the pool bar and monitored by them.

Apparently there were 2 other candidates for Presidente ...both serious debtors to the community.

One lady excused her debts saying she declined to pay because someone had left rubbish outside on her walkway and it hadnt been removed. It was politely pointed out that as she has a large dog that barks all the time on the balcony perhaps we should all refuse to pay as well .... 4 votes received

The other, who hasnt paid a centivo since moving into the apartment 2 years ago, was told to pay up or shut up...7 votes received.

Remarkably you cant vote at the meeting if you are debtor but seeemingly you can attend and stand for office.....

Jack just to be clear ... you want to explain the gate (not the directions from the gate to your apartment)??

If so, they go up past El Mirador, straight on until they get to Paradise Park. There they turn right and up the hill and round to the left. Past Shakespeare's Bar on their right, follow the complex all the way until the end, and the gate is just before the small roundabout. If they get to the entrance to the Castle Harbour sports bar they've gone too far!

yes, just the gate entrance janet. and the easiest way by taxi to it. as soon as we get to paradise park, we always tell the taxi drivers 'arriba' it saves on turfing cases up the hill from the entrance to the complex

do you think the taxi drivers would know the shakespeare's bar?
