It's official - the Festive Season has arrived. I was in Las Chafiras yesterday and popped into Iceland for a couple of things. They have Christmas decorations on sale!!!!!!!! Yesterday was still September for goodness sake. The Spanish supermarkets have more sense, or is it just restraint?
Is this a uniquely British phenomenon?

How can January be the furthest month away when it's right next door?
I saw many shops in the UK earlier this week selling Christmas stuff. I was wandering around still hoping to get my hands on some Summer clothes - no chance!
I am looking forward to my first Christmas here, I am expecting it to cart me back in time to how they used to be in the UK when I was little, kind of innocent if you know what I mean.

You wait - there are one or two valued members of this forum who are determined to spoil that and export the British Christmas to Tenerife.
Well there are some good bits, but horrific expense, too much food and drink and spending time with relative you don't particularly want to see are not some of them!
