I've always said that a bus service would probably have to wait until Palm Mar was adopted by the council and I think that's still the case. I wouldn't be surprised at that point, though, to see a small bus service, maybe just operating the route along the old road to Los Cristianos, to the main terminal. I think this is still at least a couple of years away though.

The water taxi, who knows. The plans are there, and the licence is even in place. It should happen, but with the harbour being done by (I think) Urbis, where's the money? The problem with the final provision of infrastructure along the front is that builders have to provide it, and they've been the worst hit by the recession.

Sadly URBIS are no longer interested and do not return any calls etc.

Some parts of Palm Mar have already been adopted but there appears to be "its not down to us" argument between the Council and Urbis

Yes, I've heard as much. Urbis' problem is that they are required to do the work as part of their licence, so they can argue with Arona as much as they like! How the Ayuntamiento actually gets them to do the work when their properties have been signed off, I don't know ...

Hello everybody

I have just read on "el Dia" tenerife news paper that Titsa is
starting the bus service in the area including Palm Mar
tomorrow !!!! hurrey hurrey!!!! I am very happy and I hope
everybody too.

The number of the bus service is 468 and it has 2 different
routes.

For service info and time table please go to:
titsa.com : HOME

The only down side is that the service is only from monday
to friday and not over the weekend to service peak working
hours for working people. Also the article states that Titsa
will continue to review the service to readjust the service to
maximise the service upon service demand.

I really hope the route bus service pick up quickly and in the
near future Titsa will increase the service to weekends and
frecuency.

Regards

drago :-)

and there's already a row over whether the Cabildo or Arona Ayuntamiento is going to pay for it.

Some in Santa Cruz say it's not "interurban" so should be paid for by Arona, as with other similar services in other local areas, and not "all Tinerfeños".

Others say that although it is not intrinsically an "interurban" service, it improves the interurban network, and this is why it was to be paid for by the Cabildo.

No word from the Ayuntamiento .....
