The lack of a bus for Palm Mar has made the local press, with El Dia reporting that people there are up in arms about the two kilometre walk some of them have to get to the nearest bus stop on the main Las Galletas road.
The report continues that residents complained to Arona Ayuntamiento a year or so ago, but that to date nothing has been done to resolve the situation.
Complaints centre on the mayor, José Alberto González, and various concillors, who promised to negotiate with Tisa to get at least one bus stop in the centre of Palm Mar, but residents now fear that any promises given were empty, and that the Ayuntamiento has not carried out any negotiations either with the Cabildo or Titsa.
General indignation was expressed that Arona's ruling nationalist party doesn't seem to think there is any benefit to them in doing anything for Palm Mar residents, and that the politicians with the power concentrate on helping those who can offer something in return.

The lack of transport is holding Palm Mar back as you need a car or dont mind a long walk everyday makes it hard for owners to let there property. David

It would be interesting to know how many people in Palm Mar actually vote in local elections, to see whether the political cynicism is justified. (There again, if there isn't a bus, who is going to bother to walk to the polling station?)

Can't remember exactly what the sign said, as I was dashing along, but I did see in the window of El Mocan next to Coviran that there is a council meeting (with the Mayor of Arona I believe) tomorrow at said coffee shop. Wonder if the bus service (or lack of) will be discussed?
Sunny may know more.
Needless to say us folk who live here would love a bus service.
But lets be honest here, how many people would have moved to Palm Mar without there own transport, not very many I suspect. So any Titsa service is going to run at a big loss.

And what ever time it runs will be the wrong time!
Personally I cannot see a bus service being provided to Palm Mar. One of the arguments has always been that there are not enough residents (registered) so it does not warrant running a bus service. Also if you note the majority of buses running from Las Galletas, El Fraile to Guaza are normally full and to de-tour into Palm Mar would not be worth it.
As someone has already said there are not many in Palm Mar without a car as buying an apartment with the promise (yet another one from agents etc) without a bus service is rather short sighted.
As you are all aware there was also talk (just talk I think) of a water taxi to LC, can't see that happening either.
