The problem with them is if they have found any foodstuff there before they will keep on coming back to check.

I have bought some nippon ant killer powder. I put a little bit down directly on to where they are congregating or walking and leave it there for a couple of days.
It keeps them away for quite some time but unfortunately they do come back but from another direction.

I am sure that in a few months time I'll have covered every inch of the kitchen at some stage maybe then I'll get some respite

I'm fine Doreen. How are you and Jimmy? Hope you're not overdoing it.

Not long now

The ants at ours were actually in the garden and the community sprayed it all. My daughter had seen a couple of cockroaches so got a company out to spray the apartment then our neighbour put her wise that we should have gone to the community office. Like you say it's worth a try.

Thing is you need to kill the qween otherwise she yust keeps laying eggs and you get more ants .

We have cats and can`t (don`t want to use ) pesticides .

I have good results yust following them to find the nest (where the qween is) and pouring in bouling water (this kils the qween ) .

Even bettter if you have one of these steam cleaners yust steam the nest .

Its eazy cheap and ecologiqly friendly .

Nipon is great if they're on ground level. But if they're in the nooks and crannies of your kitchen it's hard to get the powder in there. I went looking for the Red Orio but couldn't find it.

The steam cleaner sounds good Poker. That would get into the nooks and crannies of the kitchen.
