I have yet to find anyone that has a good word about telefonica
We got a letter promoting a change in contract today 'No extra money' but getting more services. My wife said 'Oh must ring up' I said 'don't you dare it's a con', if they wanted to improve the service for no extra money why didn't they just do it and advise us. Why change the contract?????????
TELEFONICA! AGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

O2 rates in Ireland for an iPhone are much higher than the UK too.

I have enough bonus points with movistar to get an iPhone, but how limited will I be with 200mb (have no idea how much that represents in practical terms)

200mb is not a lot in terms of downloading from the net, it is les than a 1/4 of a Gigabyte.

Yep ... got the Maths okay, just don't know how much downloading that is - on a phone, daily access for an hour or so to email & newspapers ?? ... and The Forum of course

Was that the new iPhone Andy or the 'old one?'

I have to say I love my Blackberry Curve, FREE from vodaphone and only £7.50 for unlimited internet when added to my existing package BUT sh*t expensive if you use the internet abroad - but aren't they all?

Telefonica is a groaning old machine ..... like BT was over a decade ago.

Went to four different Phone Boxes last week and spent 3.50 euros and didnt get to speak to anybody.

It's in need of a serious rethink and competition should be allowed to flourish.

I suspect all phone companies are as bad as each other, with Telefonica leading the field. Having moved to a place where there was no Vodafone coverage, we have had to cancel a mobile contract with them, and had a massive amount of money taken from the bank account. We recalled it, and are being hassled to pay, but they are unable to send us a bill to explain the demand (breaking the contract, do doubt - don't they have an obligation to provide coverage?).

Then Telefonica are saying there are no landline numbers available for our area (which is a lie) so we are forced to use a Movistar (=Telefonica) GPRS thingy which is bordering on the useless and very expensive.

By the way, experience with this connection suggests that being on the forum is quite a heavy demand on the connection. It would be useful if anyone has any data on this.
