It is a treat when we get down to the beach at the minute as we are so busy with work, but when we can we really make the most of it and enjoy ourselves
I was speaking metaphorically (I will put that in the long words thread) look at it another way..our lives are a "Holiday" the only difference is that we cannot come back...so enjoy it.

Hearing about your break makes me a little homesick now, love the Lake District, my Dad is from Yorkshire so lots of hols up there. Hubby and me lived in Galmpton a little village in between Brixham and Paignton and visited Dartmouth very regularly especially for the lovely restaurants, and shops, well say no more miss them like mad. So where I was not feeling homesick I am now. Cheers Blanche lol lol

We go back to England for August and have a brilliant time. We take in the New Forest Show( a brilliant agricultural show), go to a show, cycle along the beach to our friends beach hut and have a drink! Watch the fireworks every friday at Bournemouth pier while having a bbq at beachhut. Take our granddaughter crabbing!!!! at Mudeford Quay. Go to Stomping on the Quomps! on Christchurch Quay. Is a festival of live bands, day and night.
Go shopping !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This year we are going on a cheapie Ryanair flight to Dublin and staying for a couple of nights.

We have a lovely time and the weather is usually good, too hot for hubby to work in August so thats when we take our main break, we have a mobile home on a hoburne parks site so we really do feel like we are on holiday rather than staying with family. Is perfect for us and was the solution to my homesickness mainly because my daughter returned and then went on to have my granddaughter. Is a fab holiday and when the sun is shining couldnt be anywhere better, but when the clouds and misery start we are off back here. Other holidays we have had since being here include La Tecina on La Gomera, and Barcelona to see the Grand Prix. There are loads of places to go from here, and we would definitely like to do the cruise round the islands too, have heard good reports.

I'll hopefully visiting the South Pacific next May if all goes according to plan. If you want relaxing island life... that's where it's at, not here.
