Well we certainly don't go back the the UK. All our friends come out to see us and then we are on their holiday while they are here I want to visit all of the other islands when the cash allows.

In my opinion living in Tenerife for these people..compared to the UK..their "Life" is a "Holiday".."You Lucky People" (Tommy Trinder)

Beleive me it is no holiday when you live here! People think because you live here that you spend all your time on the beach sunbathing and you don't. You have to work hard to get a day off. But I do agree that it is better than living in the UK.

It is a treat when we get down to the beach at the minute as we are so busy with work, but when we can we really make the most of it and enjoy ourselves

A recent survey in the Canarian press showed that the vast majority of Canarians don't go away, but take their holidays "at home".

Thats the same as us, trouble is it works out expensive when friends come to visit, meals out etc, which you can't do all the time. Although its lovely to see people, we the same as you are not on holiday, although we are semi-retired.

La Palma is one of the islands we would like to see. We have not been back to the UK once in almost 4 years we have been here. Apart from the shops lol lol and the at times the countryside where we lived, don't miss it.

Absolutely not. No matter where you live you have to work, pay your mortgage, do the school run, go to the supermarket, do the banking, ALL the things you do in the UK. The only difference is here you do them in the sunshine.

I lived in Spain for eight years before I took a holiday in the UK. I used to be so anti Britain, but living there is different to holidaying there. Last time we hired a car.
Spent a day in Blackpool,
One in Windermere,
Chester Zoo,
North Wales in Conwy Castle,
Historic Town of York,
A day in Dartmouth
Brixham and Torquay
And plenty of Shopping.
One of the best holidays I've had.

Vegas Next Please!

I go to Vancouver Island, Western Canada to visit my family every year.
Wonderful long twilight evenings on the deck or my brother's wharf, sipping margaritas or wine and then going out in the boat to the middle of the lake to watch shooting stars.

Mosquitos are huge though!
