Dor, how does one "take care" of angels? My paternal family's Catholicism was lost on me ... as it was on my father, which is probably why I've not heard about this.

If I feel as if I have been helped, I always thank mine and say good morning to them every day You must think I am mad!

i was told they guide you and look after you but if you dont believe then they go to someone else ok ok but i was brought up by the nuns remember so when i was young i believed and it sticks and like cathy i am not mad its what you are taught to believe it sort of stays with you and also like cathy i feel when i need help i have got it from somewhere so let people believe what they want and i will believe what i want it is a comfort when you believe in something

I agree Dor, and no Cathy I don't think you're mad at all. It's not something I personally believe, but one thing I do believe and agree with you about ... one needs something to believe in, whether it's angels, luck, whatever.

Default Do you believe in Angels and white feathers?

Don't know much about white feathers but fascinated by angels. How many of us were delighted to wear the angel costume in the school play. Did anyone ever play a bad angel?
I love angel art. Doubtless we could all remember some angel paintings.
I do believe in my guardian angel....it has stuck by me all these years....I owe something: at least belief.

There are a number (7 or 9?) of orders of angels and they all have different jobs. Some are seraphim (think they play the instruments) choirs (sing) cherubim (children) Archangels e.g. Gabriel and Michael (messengers), our guardians and some more whom I've forgotten.

Does anyone remember the children's hymn?

Guardian Angel from heaven so bright
Watching beside me to lead me aright.
Fold your wings round me and guide me with love.
Softly sing songs to me from Heav'n above.
Beautiful angel my guardian so mild,
Tenderly guide me for I am your child.

(Be grateful I didn't sing it on Youtube!!!

How true ... I went today to see the house of a woman doing some work for me in Dublin - her house was hit by lightning on Saturday - the fireplace literally flew off the wall, all the sockets exploded and it looked like a bomb had hit the place (and she first came to Ireland in 1992 as a Bosnian refugee fleeing the Serbs: she & her husband had to leave everything behind and start all over again)

Please, where can you sack angels ??

Please Doreen, I genuinely am not trying to be glib or funny but is it possible for someone to be born unlucky?

Actually, to meet this woman was such a lesson - she kept saying, at least no one was hurt - she had been upstairs just 2 minutes before the strike, and that room is practically destroyed.

She and her family have worked so hard for the last 16 years in Ireland and helped so many of the other refugees - truly an inspiration.

I have loads of questions I would like to put to angels:

1) Is there one angel for each person, and if so, how come heaven is full of angels who have not been humans beforehand?
2) If there are fewer angels than people, how many people does each angel have to look after?
3) How are you allocated to a particular angel? If yours turns out to be not very good, how can you swap?

and of course,

4) How many angels can dance on the head of a pin? This has been baffling catholics for centuries.

We demand answers.
