John Lennon once famously said, "before Elvis there was nothing." While not strictly true (Frank Sinatra inspired similar fan hysteria in the 1940s), Elvis was the figurehead of a new, sexually charged music which would change the world - rock and roll.
On what would have been his 74th birthday (January 8), he remains its ultimate icon.
It's hard to imagine what a gorgeous guy like him would look like at 74, perhaps if the drugs and the booze hadn't bloated him he'd be in the same gorgeous league as Sean Connery.

briz there is a dvd out called the last 24 hrs. it is a documentry about the last hours in elvis's life as told by his cousin and snd members of his band. it states by his cousin that elvis became ill and the doctor was sent for.coronel parker was also sent for. later when he passed the room where elvis was the door was open a little and he saw the doctor and coronel parker dipping elvis's head in a bucket of ice water, so they could revive him enough so he could preform that night. he was later found dead in his bathroom. they say the coronel had gambled all his money away and needed to rely on elvis. it is a very sad dvd.
