I've just bought a ticket to Tenerife for November.
I'd like to go around the island with a bike and tent.
Could you please put some advices?
Can I buy a cheap tent in Tenerife? I don't need anything special, just the cheapest one. I won't be able to take it back. Here in Ireland we can buy such one for about 15 eur. Could you please recommend a shop in or close to Reina Sofia?
Do you know a good website with camp sites with water, shower and such basic stuff you know? I didn't find many.
Are there any poisonous animals? If I sleep just without tent.
As far as I know, the tents aren´t particularly cheap in the SOuth, but I bought mine for 20 euros from Decathlon. A 2 man, and it is great. I do believe Hiper Trebol sell them in the south, but not sure where else.
If you click my link below, we have bikes for hire and we would be happy to organise this for you.
As regards camp sites, no I don´t think there is that many, but I bet someone on this forum will be able to point you in the right direction. The only one I know of is the Camping Nauta near Las Galletas.
Just to confirm: Hiper Trebol have a good range of tents and other camping gear. Very reasonable prices, too.

Re: Tent and camp sites, bike hire
There are quite a lot of camping zones in the island, but these are mostly all in the hills, usually in the forests and next to the 'zonas reacreativas'. which means that there is fresh spring water usually available.
They're not like campsites in the UK and have very limited facilities, but are great for people who like their camping a bit more natural and wild. I love them. They're also free, but you can only stay a limited time and need to arrange a permit beforehand.
If that's the sort of thing you're looking for, here's a link (the Spanish page has more up to date information). The box on the right of the page links to the camping zones.
There was also a campsite up on the north coast at Punta de Hidalgo, but I'm not sure it's open in November.
