I'm not sticking up for him in the slightest, so please don't take this the wrong way but....

....there are plenty of 13+ year old boys and girls who would do 'favors' for money. Its a way of life. The Buddhists don't have morals at all. I know of Thai women who will go and pick up a Westerner, for money, when they have a husband at home, the husband is happy for her to do it. Sex means nothing to them, its the same as making someone a sandwich....and that's the way they are.

We were in Cambodia and my other half was asked, whilst I was there if he would like a 'favor' this was from a 12 year old boy and the price he was asking was $2.

So if we have someone who has a 'tendency' then South East Asia is a heaven for them.

As I said earlier I don't agree with any of this, but I think there are far worse people than Mr. Glitter.

He is nothing but a "dirty,filthy, degenerate", he should never see the light of day, and he should be "castrated". No punishment is too good for him, how many children has he robbed of their childhood? and how much mental and physical pain has he caused? to little more than babies?
The thought, or the sight of him makes me feel sick.

He will in all probability earn more money in the future..books..newspaper articles..television interviews, asking for his side of the story etc. than he was able to earn when he was "Pop Star"..such is life.

I would have totally agreed with you all if I had not lived here for the past two years. He (Gary Glitter) didn't have to look for 'it', 'it' was given to him.

The Asians are very family orientated. They have babies at 15/16 years old, so in the future that baby will send the parents money and look after them, basically Thais(Asians/Buddhists) are a lazy race so they have as many babies as possible to look after the adults in the future.

If their 'child' gets a foreigner, the money is big.

I have friends, true friends here who have Thai girlfriends/wives. The 'UK guy' has to pay for girlfriend/wife plus the kids, (they all have kids with the Thai husband) Mr. UK also pays the Thai husband to look after 'A' kid (maybe not even hers, its just a way to get Mr. UK to pay!). Then Mr. UK pays the family. Firstly because he has taken girlfriend/wife away from the family and she is an extra pair of hands getting in the crop/rice etc. So he pays 'her' family 'her' wage, so they can employ another person. The fact she would never see the wage from the family in the first place is irrelevant...he is foreigner and he has money!

I guarantee Gary Glitter took the 'offer' and they got wind of who he is, he wouldn't be able to help blurting out how famous he is/was, and the 'girls' jumped on it. They sniffed money...the rest is history.

As I said previously I don't for one minute agree with Gary Glitter BUT please look at the other side. These people are not innocent people. Its all about the money.

In the UK this runs true but...

You have to understand that this is their (Thais) goal. Its the same as winning the lottery in the UK.

When the wife/daughter get to go out with a foreigner they send firecrackers up in the sky, its the lottery.

I know 'girls' who have sponsors from the Western world who send the Thai girl £100 a month to stop them playing the game. Trust me they don't! They can earn £2,000 a month, its drilled into them.

We was in a bar the other day and a 10 year old girl was there from a 'good' family, we asked her what she wanted to do, she wanted to be a lawyer, her mate wanted to meet a 'farang' (foreigner) These girls are from the best school here, very well educated but they know they will earn more from meeting a foreigner than being a lawyer.......this is the problem.

We have a guy coming for dinner tomorrow night to our house. His family own 15 hospitals in Bangkok, he lives next door to the family who own and developed Red Bull, serious money people. When I asked him the top salary for a surgeon he said about £2,000 a month. How much would a top surgeon earn in the UK USA?......a lot more.

Bar girls can earn £2,000 a month no problem, no education.

This is the problem.
