I find this case rather bizarre, whilst this man is clearly on a mission, I think it rather strange that the powers that be see the only way to deal with him is to potentially lock him up forever: Source BBC

Sheriff Foulis told Gough the same process was likely to occur "again and again and again". . . . .
. . . . . . Gough told Perth Sheriff Court he accepted it was "potentially" the case that he could remain in jail forever - apart from the few seconds of freedom he enjoys every six months or so.
He denied his nakedness was a breach of the peace or an affront to the court.
So how would you deal with him, would you lock him up every time or would you think that if you let him complete his walk (I believe he was trying to walk from Lands End to John O'Groats naked) he might just then cover up?
Think this bloke needs help, he might just get it in jail.
But WOW! 21 months for Breach of the peace, must be a record. A breach of the Peace is one of the oldest common law offences there is. It dates back centuries, before the police were even thought of!
I think the charge would go, if I remember correctly
That you---------- did in the county of ---------on---day the ---- of----- cause a breach of the peace.
Contrary to common law.
It was probably written down the same way when Henry the 8th was walking around!!

Re: Is being naked showing contempt for court?
I knew of a case once, a member of a commune in a run-down mansion on the West coast of Wales. An ordinary guy, but with a violent aversion to clothes. I visted once, and was surprised to see him stark naked sitting next to the fire. Once he tried to enter the local chess club naked, but was refused entry where we were playing (in a pub). Another time, a new couple were interested in buying their way in to the commune. They knocked on the door, and he answered, starkers. They explained who they were, and he said he would show them around. "Hang on" he said, I'll go and put something on" He returned in wellies (only).
In this case, the police finally persuaded him to wear some kind of white smock when outside his territory, probably because he was worrying the sheep.
