Default Mandelson returns to the Cabinet

Peter Mandelson has returned to the Cabinet as Business Secretary taking a Life Peerage to enable him to do so.

This is the guy who has resigned twice from previous Government posts due to controversy.

First time, fiddling a mortgage application, second time, fiddling a citizenship application for one of his mates

The lunatics are now running the asylum, in my opinion

He knows his politics, though, does Mandy, and that's what Gord needs right now.

He certainly does ... I just hope for Gordon Brown's sake that he manages to see the job through to the end. He could have made a mistake putting this guy in the cabinet..... One thathe could regret for a long time to come.

Putting aside Mandelson's history of "Sleaze" for a moment..the man is steeped in political experience..extremely astute..cunning and devious in his dealing with other major political figures.

At this moment in time I believe his appointment is a good move for Gorden Brown..Brown probably greeted him with the lyric's from a song.."Hello Darkness my Old Friend".. this "Doberman" is what is required at the moment..as long as he can get along with the "Other Dog" in the kennel.

I believe Brown is living on borrowed time..the overall opinion seems to be that Brown is not the man for the job...Tony Blair is probably smugly satisfied at Brown's situation..Blair may well be thinking to himself "So you thought it was easy"
