Well quick intro, I'm JP, I'm already a ex-pat but living in Lanzarote at the moment, been here for about 4 years now.

I've joined up seeing as I'm unsure if me and the missus will be living here in the future and Tenerife will be somewhere that we 'might' move too.

Nothing much to say at this point really, owned a bar in Lanzarote since we moved here, trying to sell up as I'm also a web designer (just for myself and no one else heh) and the future wife is also working else where.

Well thats about it really, bit boring I know but that kinda sums up our lives at the moment lol

Lanzarote is struggling with tourists at the moment, very similar to Tenerife, all inclusive apartments/hotels popping up, no cheap flights etc etc

My bar over the past 4 years is getting worse, I've seen a very steady drop in trade and it's not the lack of tourists flying to Lanzarote, they just are not spending as much, going as often or stopping in one of those classy 1 key all inclusive apartments lol

We both like Tenerife, being a much larger Islands we wont get island fever as much and we like the shopping... you have real shops over there unlike the rubbish ones we have to put up with in lanzarote

Business wise, it really does not make a difference where I live, as long as I have a PC and internet I can work and the real nice part is I don't have to relay on tourists visiting the Islands

@JPM do you run an "English Bar" or one aimed at international customers?

I don't advertise as a 'english bar' and it's un-obvious (unless your from the North East of England) what kind of bar it is.

I get a very good mix of people from european countries but majority is still brits. I also get a few ex-pats coming in but they are normally more hassle than a well tanked up brit

You mightn't be aware but we have another member from Lanzarote, Alantara, who is also thinking of moving over here.
