Default A friendly home wanted for my 3yr old dog

Unfortunately, as some of you may know, I am leaving Tenerife for Marbella at the end of August. I am desperately searching for a loving and caring home for my 3yr old dog Herby.

I have had Herby myself since he was 5mths old and I class him as my best friend. He's very good with children and just loves to be loved.

I need to find him someone who is just as caring as myself as soon as possible. I hate for him to leave me but it has to be done.

Anyone interested in getting to know him please contact me by pm and I will get back to you.

Oh dear Debs is there no way you can take him with you, how can you be sure that someone will treat him as well as you have, plus you know all his little ways etc.

So sad for you I know, but really feel for your dog too

It does break my heart...really it does. but at the moment i don't know what to expect when I'm there myself yet.

I may be away from him for long lengths of time and it's just not fair on him. I have been told it's ok to take him but I have so much to sort out and so little time. I thought it may be the case that I have him sent over when I'm properly settled....but I don't think its the right thing to do. If I can find someone who he'll be happy with, then I'll be happy

A pet is for life Debs.
If he is your best friend, how can you leave him. Repay his friendship. He should be going with you. Think about this. Don't put yourself in a position where you will regret something for the rest of your life.

A dog or cat is part of the family! You wouldn't leave your son or daughter behind would you ? What about getting someone to take care of him for you until you get settled ?

I know Debs really well and she has cried buckets in reaching this decision. Give her a break guys. She's finding this really tough and wants to find the perfect home for Herby.

Yeah Cathy, that is one of my options but I still need to find that someone. Hopefully it'll only be for a few weeks anyway but I don't kno...and I don't want to put him in Kennels

For what it is worth, this has been put here as a post for help not advice on "how could Debs leave her beloved pet behind?", it has been explained that she does not know what she is going to, think how upset the dog would be, being somewhere strange & having to be left.

Debs has made a very tough decision in the best interests of her pet, please can anyone help her positively?

I'll fetch my coat
