No, the equivalent for "par for the course" would be "lo normal".

I've just been baffled by he was holding the fryingpan by the handle. I then discovered that tener la sarten por el mango means to call the shots.

a word typical to the Canaries is "Aguita" it's a compliment, some work that should have taken 3 days and you did it in 1 your friend would say "aguita"

canela is cinnamon, canelo is cinnamon tree. I have no idea why
esa mujer es canela fina = she is an exceptional woman, but
hacer el canelo = to act dumb.

Perhaps @cinnamon can explain
