Oh, and the jackets have to be able to be accessed from inside the car - the boot isn't the place for the jackets. I.e., you can't leave the vehicle on an interurban road without donning a reflective jacket, day or night. Which I think is a great idea BTW (I don't know how many aussies die each year due to roadside injuries).

It's also worth pointing out that if you disobey the civil guard whilst riding a bicycle, they can deduct points from your driving licence if they catch you. Actually no it's not worth pointing out, but I thought it was a pretty funny story anyway.
