Seaside village, about to go up in the world as they get around to finishing the coastal path and put a new beach in. This means that the next year or so will be taken up with further works, but it will all add to improving an already decent area.

Good mix of nationalities, some lovely new complexes, some awful old ones. Fair range of shops and improving; 24 hour private doctor, several banks (Banca March, Santander, Caja Canarias), great pizza place, good range of restaurants ...

anything specific you'd like to know?

There was one bank up until a year ago, then Santander and Caja Canarias decided to move in. Generally, they seem to know where to invest, so that is a good sign.
Many assume that the coast will systematically be developed from the south, eventually incorporating Callao Salvaje into it. The beach in Callao will be developed soon, also the coastal path from Playa Paraiso. This all sounds positive, the only question is the timescale....

To be fair, tenders for the beach work are invited now, with the view to starting the work in September THIS YEAR. This is official from the Town Hall, so there might just be an element of truth in it.

Is it wise for me to review my two year plan of moving to Callao and bring it forward before the rents go through the roof?

There is plenty to rent in Callao at the moment, they could of course rise, but I doubt they will rise much, if they do.

Thank you all, with respect to the new complexes would you have a name of a decent one to view, maybe front line apartments also Villas. What about restaurant prices and beer, as we found in Amarilla Golf the beer was a lot more expensive than Puerto Colon(not that we drink a lot but it gives a guide) o/k then we may enjoy half a shandy!

Of course, Mirador de la Gomera is by far the best complex in Callao Salvaje. This is an entirely objective opinion (well, we do have an apartment there!) but it is genuinely front-line. PM me if you would like details of how to find an apartment there.

There are a lot of nice villas in Callao, but usually set back from the sea, often with no view at all. It depends on your priorities.
