Tickets are booked and my wife and young lad will travel separate to me. I go with the dogs(some people say I have gone to the dogs years ago). We (me and the dogs) arrive in at 2am and will be met by elmar services.

So now, just all the packing etc which is never ending. Never knew we had so much junk.

Once its all done this side I then need to start asking about that side.
Tom Throw out the Junk your about to start a new life David

Would you believe. I rang Iberia this morning to confirm that the dogs had been confirmed and was told my flight was cancelled. Reason it was more than 4 days and it was not paid for. They had my card but told me they would call back and confirm the dogs. I waited 24 hours and called. No news. I waited another 24 and called , no news. I waited another 24 and called no news. I called today and it was cancelled. All these calls and they were supposed to call me.

I got a very don't give a damm rude person on the phone that said basically tough luck and also informed me that Iberia don't transport dogs to Tenerife and never had.

A choice words from me and I hung up.

I got composed and called back and got a very helpful man called Nuno. He informed me that it was the other way round and dogs wont be transported into Ireland. So he booked me another flight , €30 more. He still now has to confirm the dogs. He gave me his name and number and assured me that he will keep on top of it.

But the crazy thing was that they put my ticket on hold and were calling me back to confirm but because they were unorganised my flight was canceled.

Glad to hear that Iberia is such a quality airline.

Lastly what is San Miguel de Abona like to live and for schools?

It's in Guargacho, it seems. Between Las Chafiras and Las Galletas, sort of. It's OK, very Spanish, traffic could be a bit of a problem especially given the roadworks in and out of Las Chafiras.

Not exactly right Tom, it is still Residential, with a management company, strange, but a management company was in existence before the new laws were introduced,,yes many people let, but almost as many don't, however it has worked perfectly well for as long as I have been there (15 years). In my humble opinion it will never go fully touristic, main reason, the cost of installing a fire system. Many years ago estimates were around £80,000, this was for "Surface" piping (3 inch red cast iron pipes running the length and breadth of the complex),{have a look at THe Heights} now I am sure you purchased on R.P. because of its unique architecture and looks, and would not want it ruined, by this system. As far as I can remember, nobody even quoted for a system that would bury these pipes within the walls, and the cost would be absoloutely prohibitive.Even the people that rent commercially would not want to bear the costs of this, and the non renters certainly wouldn't.
The new management company (2 years) are a little nieve, and should have left things exactly as they were, as I think they may have opened "A can of Worms"

@TomA when looking for a place, the prevailing weather varies quite a lot over the island.

Using my incredible artistic skills - here's a rough guide I have prepared:
