Default Bringing a mountain bike over

I want to bring my mountain bike over, is this a good idea or would it be cheaper just to buy a new one, how would I go about it.

Its similar to pre booking a bag of golf clubs, ask in advance on the flight that you are booked on.

A friend of mine lives here and has just bought one from the UK, he got it over here quite easily, I can put you in touch with him if necessary, let me know!

They do sell them over here, but if you are particularly fond of the one you have, or would lose money on selling and replacing it, then I am sure it would be easy to transport it over on the plane. The airline would have guidleines on packing, etc
