Re: A Michelin Star for a Tenerife restaurant Bloody ridiculous! The novelty will soon wear off though.
On lastminute.com today, there are all sorts of deals for 3+ course meals in Michelin starred London restaurants starting at £20

I had heard that they had a Michelin star. This article reports that too as do quite a number if you Google it.
Restaurants recognised by the Michelin guide can only be good news for Tenerife, surely, no matter what your food tastes are. Or have I missed something

Re: A Michelin Star for a Tenerife restaurant Weird, because the news article is clear that the Abama restaurant is only one in the Canaries with a Michelin star
ETA: just had a thought ... are these annual awards? If so, could Los Roques have had one but not have one any more?

Not annual awards, but, the restaurants are reviewed and the award can be lost.

Yes they are and you may recall there is often press comment when someone like Ramsay loses his star one year.
Unless of course the Roque was selling tyres.
Bow to your greater knowledge about these things Briz

Reason: Briz says not annual

You have to be very careful both in booking and whilst you are dining since "extras" are very expensive.
These significant discounts are limited and you will often be seated on a "poor" table to balance/enhance the look of the room.
well worth going for IMO.

Re: A Michelin Star for a Tenerife restaurant Personally I wouldn't pay 130 Euros per head whatever was on the menu but that's just my preference.
I would give it go though (providing someone else was paying
)out of curiosity, truffles and all.
Congratulations to the restaurant!
