Default This attitude mystifies me

One of the nurses who looks after my wife while she is on dialysis is going to Tenerife soon on holiday.

They are going all inclusive and they have decided that they are not leaving the hotel. Their attitude reminds me of the main characters in the 'Benidorm' series.

Their money, their decision but no matter how hard I try, I just cannot fathom their thinking. No Loro Parque, no eating out, nothing!

Go figure it.

Totally agree ... but it's mystifying that they've made this decision up front. Maybe money is tight and the hotel is all-inclusive?

Once they have two or three days of pigging themselves on that stew stuff you get for dinner every night I am sure they will venture out

wouldn´t it have had been cheaper for them to go on a cruise around the channel islands? all inclusive included and a floating hotel with a breathtaking sea view.....

Me too. It sounds as though they know what they'll find and plan in advance to avoid it ... in which case, as Cin says, why not just go elsewhere?
If they don't already know what it's like, why make the decision to stay put?

I've never fancied an African holiday on the grounds that one is effectively put in a compound ... like being in prison, I've always thought. Why anyone would do that to oneself ...

I went all inclusive once for a week in cyprus. It was for a wedding and out of season. The hotel ran out of "local" free drinks so said everyone had to pay for branded ones and the food was disgusting. This was a 4 star and will never go all inclusive again.
If you just want to sit with brits in a hotel go to blackpool...
