The Monasterio is a lovely place and I have been many times since we live in Puerto de la Cruz. It's a place we go for special meals, anniversaries or with friends for a lovely meal out. Here's a link to one little album of photos I made when I went with my friend Anne. We dined in the Mirador, which is the restaurant furthest up the hill which overlooks the Orotava Valley. If you're okay walking, you may want to park in the main parking lot and walk up past the other parts of El Monasterio to the Mirador as parking right outside the Mirador at the top of the little hill is limited to half a dozen spaces. That's just less than a five minute walk and you will probably want to see all the different areas as it is so picturesque. Of course you may want to dine in any of the other restaurants. Hard to decide in which part you want to stop.

Mirador photos are numbers 2 to 7 in the above album. We walked around other areas and then returned to the Mirador to dine, those are the pictures where you see food on the table and my friend Anne.

Here also are some more photos taken when I went with friends when again we dined in the Mirador.

Here's their entrecot steak:

And the breast of duck:

And a partial view of the parking lot:

Default Does anyone know anything about the monasterio restaurant?

Thank you for those really good pictures. It looks such an interesting place. I love the way the entrecot is served!

If you go to the restaurant at the far end after your meal, for dessert or coffee, the views are wonderful.

I have never heard anyone complain about it either.

Well worth a visit.

Wow, great pics

From what you guys say there seem to be a number of restaurants there?

What Kathml had to say was unfortunate; hopefully it could be put down to an off-day. We stayed in a 5 star in Crete once and the food was great up until the day when half the hotel were sick in one night!

We have a friend joining us for the middle week of our holiday and I would like to make it really special for him as it will be his first holiday since his wife died earlier this year.
