Default Applying for/renewing a British passport from Tenerife.

The British Consulate-General in Madrid issues full 10 year passports for adults and 5-year passports for under 16s.

There is guidance on their website HERE, and the C1 application form notes HERE and the C2 application form notes HERE.

You will need to submit:

* A completed C1 application form for adults HERE or C2 application form for under-16s HERE (the C1 application form notes or C2 application form notes will help with completing the forms); You must sign completely within the signature box and get the form countersigned by someone of appropriate standing; You must also include a daytime telephone contact number and your normal address in Spain.
* 2 passport size photos, meeting the Passport photo standards as described HERE; one of these photos must also be countersigned by your nominated countersignatory.
* Originals of any supporting Documents required as described HERE.
* The biometric Passport fees and courier fee as described HERE.

It takes about two full weeks to process all routine passport applications from receipt of a properly completed application. There is no fast track service unless extremely compassionate circumstances apply, e.g. death, accident or serious injury. Documentary evidence (e.g. a letter from a doctor) of this would be required.

Emergency Passports

If your passport has been lost, stolen, or you need to return to the UK urgently, you can make an appointment for the emergency surgery: call 922 286 653.

Emergency Passports are issued from the surgeries by appointment only. In South Tenerife, the surgeries are on Mondays and Thursdays between 10am and 1.30pm.

Emergency Passports cost 86€.
