That's one of the reasons I couldn't understand the base liquidable being a little under 50% of the Valor catastral.

Many thanks for your help in explaining anyway.

You might well find the two figures come closer together over the years as the value is deemed to alter slightly. I've changed the wording slightly on my website now, anyway, to avoid this confusion again!

Ahhhhh! I've just checked our bank account and find the direct debit has been set up in my name but the bill has arrived in hers. Could this be why they haven't drawn on the direct debit......who knows?

Just something else to sort out

I would have thought it depended on the reference given, to be honest. I don't see why the difference should intrinsically have stopped the bank making payment, or the Ayuntamiento from claiming it. It's a joint account isn't it??

Is this your first IBIs, A? If so, that is probably why they won't have taken it. The first one needs to be made physically before the second and subsequent ones are taken by DD.

Yes it is a joint account and the first IBI.

I still don't understand why they can't take the first one by direct debit after all Entermansa and Endesa didn't have a problem with it and they set the DD up much quicker.

Just double checked the bank account (for refernce number) and there is no DD set up (my mistake) the DD mentioning 'Tributos' that is set up is for the Basura and has been used successfully.

Probably it wasn't set up because the first one has to be paid physically, and will need to be set up when you pay the first one.
