Hubby's is out of date at the end of next month, so need to know the why what where when and how's about doing it please. I think you need to go for a medical first not but not sure???
We're quite happy (maybe happy's not the right word) to go to Trafico ourselves and do it as can usually get by speaking in Spanish, but just dont know what the procedure is.
Sorry if this is duplicated, but I couldnt find anythign when I did a search.
Thanks!!

You don't state your age - if 70 or over the renewal is free - you need a signature form (available at Trafico) 1 photo and the medical (also with a photo on it) plus green certificate and passport or plastic residencia if still in date
Under 70
The form as per the link given by cinnamon http://www.dgt.es/was6/portal/conten...Castellano.pdf the medical, A signature form, one photo, green certificate and passport or plastic residencia if still in date and pay a tasa of 22 euros
in neither case do you need an empadronamiento if your address remains unchanged

Me again, forgot about this over the last few weeks with Xmas and New Year, now need to get my butt in gear.
Can someone tell me where we can have the medical done, prefereably close to Adeje and a contact number please? Can we go to our social doctor, or is it a private clinic?
There are special centres. There is one on the down road in Adeje. If you park in the carpark half way down, it's just a bit up the hill on the other side of the road.

Thanks Janet, do you mean the down road that goes down toward the Health Centre from the Town Hall, or the down road that comes from next to Otellos and goes into Los Olivos??? I call them both the down road.

I mean the down road from Otellos into Los Olivos! About half way down there's a car park on your left. By the time you get to the entrance, you'll have just passed the medical centre on your right. It just looks like any shop.
They had some particular opening hours, it's not just a 9-5 type thing. From memory there was a morning session, and then another late afternoon into the evening. There was a queue ...
The medical there, at least when we had ours done, was a three room affair. First room was a sort of hand-eye co-ordination thing like an old-fashioned computer game to keep the car between two lines. Second room was a simple eye test such as you'd have in any opticians. Third room was a doctor who said "are you OK" .....
