That's the rub, when I posted them I asked for a trackable delivery service, the Post Office Counter worker 'sold' me this service.

When I complained to the delivery side, they simply say, if your not happy with the service you recived in the shop, that is an different business - in other words - their not interested!

It used to freak me out at first too FLS, but you kinda get used to it after 11 years here

All part of living here............ One of the many downsides that we put up with to live here I guess. Parcels generally arrive, eventually, I think we've had 2 or 3 that have never ever got here at all

Because the postie takes them home and says to himself "I must deliver that parcel tomorrow" - (or in Spanish) "Mañana, mañana"

Just kidding Spanish authorities, please don´t sue me

Incidentally, I forgot to add that as far as the Royal Mail is concerned my parcel never got to the USA, (even though it said it did on their 'Track and Trace' site).

They said that as soon as a parcel has been sorted (by its area code) and taken to the UK hub where these parcels are stored prior to dispatch, they count that as being passed to their overseas delivery partner!!!

So you can look at their website to trace a parcel, assume that the said parcel is in the country of its destination and according to Royal Mail - it might not yet have let the UK

I wish my recorded delivery had never arrived!
It was a bill from the taxman here in Tenerife.
Apparently we didn't pay enough for our apartment three years ago.
They have now valued the apartment at 25,000 euros more than we paid for it.
This means, apparently, that we now owe the taxman 604 euros EACH! - to include interest accrued since we purchased.

It's been happening quite a lot over the past three to four years, I'm afraid. Even when people are declaring absolutely correct figures, they don't always believe them ... with a history in property transactions here of underdeclaration you can understand it, even though it is infuriating and frustrating when one's been completely straight.

I wonder what will happen with the properties that are being sold now at knock down prices ... are they buyers setting themselves up for a "re-evaluation" by the councils at some point down the line ... ???

As was said, Royal Mail can only track a parcel from the Uk to the point it is delivered in the oveseas country.

I sell a lot on Ebay and people outside the UK buy and basically I tell them its at their risk. I can only provide proof of posting effectively.

I exampled a 1.5 kg parcel from UK to Spain and most categories of sending included compensation only to £36 with a small additional cost for compensation up to £500.

For lower value items its sometimes better for the sender to mail parcels by normal mail and simply get proof of posting at the post office.

Make sure your sender makes a claim so that there is no argument for a refund to yourself. Also, if you paid with a UK credit card and the item cost over £100 you're covered by the card company (though i doubt that applies if a Spanish card was used)

example - AP 888 CORREOS PUERTO DE LA CRUZ 38400 i only ever have my bills sent to my house as a box is only €46 a year and i let lots of people use it... It could take another 2 weeks for a parcel to get to my house from the local post office, and in august our local postie is on holiday,so no mail until september
