Default Advice on a Registered Delivery

i have a problem with a registered parcel that i should get from the uk now. the company (not amazon) told me i'd get it by the 22nd. i went to our p.o.box again yesterday and was happy to finally see a notification that i should pick something up inside. but it was not my parcel. back home i looked at the spanish post-office webpage to track the parcel and it told me that as of the 20th, it was at my post-office! so i phoned them (i did ask them when i was there whether there was anything else for me...) and said it should be there but they don't have it. what do i do now??? i have emailed the company and see what they will say but surely there must be a way for them to track it??? argh! HELP!

i phoned the post-office's customer help line and was told that "reached its destination" means the parcel could be anywhere in spain and that i should just wait some more. at least the company got back to me, saying if it's not arrived in 10 days, they will send it again

This is what worries me when we move over there, it's not so bad if the sender re-sends another item but what if it's family sending?

After the last package I sent over went missing it really has put me off. You had suggested registered mail the last time but even that seems a tad dodgey. No wonder ebay never took off over there!

What a crazy use of language. Normal people would understand that statement as being at your address.

i agree, perikles... in spanish it says something like "entragado en oficina de destino", which to me means MY post-office.

i have to add - this is the first time i have ever had problems with a registered parcel, and i'd like to keep the faith in the crappy system, hoping it just got delayed.

destino ... half way there. Nah, doesn't compute.

We have had several things Brizzed or Nickyed lately. That works! And feels far nicer too!

Prior to Christmas I sent some goods (that were ordered through my online shop) to France via Royal Mail (Registered Post) using their Track & Trace system.

Unfortunately they went missing - when I tracked and traced it said that the parcel had been handed to their overseas delivery agents in America

I rang Royal Mail to try and sort this out this week (I had given my customer a FULL REFUND) and when I asked where the parcel was they said:

Basically, the Royal Mail system will not 'talk' to an overseas delivery system and you have no way of tracking the parcel!

They want you to use their expensive parcel delivery service as opposed to their postal service!

Don't get me started on parcel delivery companies - I could rant and rage for hours!

yikes, hopper - that's awful!! i don't see how the postal system of the country from which you post somebody can claim they won't take responsibility once it has reached another country, esp. if it's been sent to the wrong country all along. this is terrible! and postage is not cheap. i write a lot of letters and get annoyed that every year postage goes up by a cent or two (two cents this year for europe-wide mail) - and then you get bad service!!

Why the hell do they offer a service for which they charge if they openly admit that the service doesn't actually exist?
