Default Las Goteras - Tejina

Can I recommend this excellent restaurant, please? We went with friends last weekend; they'd been curious because they'd tried getting in on a Sunday afternoon but it was so packed they ended up going elsewhere. It's 2 roads from Bar Vanessa (coming from PDLA) on the right, up the road on the right hand side.
They specialise in meat (fish lovers won't be very happy there) and have a fairly extensive menu - steaks, chicken, lamb (or was it goat?)... and the prices are ok. Large portions, too.
For starters I tried the cauliflower in bread-crumbs (which I'd never seen in any restaurant here) and my, it was the best cauliflower I have ever eaten! It was such a large portion, too, that it would have almost been enough for a main course.
Everything is well-presented, the waiters are friendly and make sure everything is right for you.
Can't wait to go back!
The only negative part was that my beloved Baileys & Amaretto was 5 Euros per glass (expensive!!!), while for brandies they only charged 1,90.
We paid about 128 Euros for 3 starters, 4 main courses, chips and papas arrugadas, 1l of wine, 4 pints of beer, 9 brandies and 3 Baileys & Amarettos, which I thought was quite good. Oh and both couples took some left-overs home!

I've been a regular here since I came to live on the Island 5 years ago, its not cheap but is good value for money, but you do need a hearty appetite.

Its a non smoking restaurant by the way ...but if you get locked in at night, a smoke with the staff is allowed ..what a glorious place is Tenerife.

I really don't have any problems with places being non-smoking here - after all, it's warm pretty much all throughout the year, so it's easy to just pop outside for one.
I don't even think they're very expensive (and definitely value for money); I think the coctél de gambas was 3.90€, which is cheaper than in most places!

we went to las goteras last week and the place is well worth a visit, we ate about 7.00pm on a wednesday ,we were asked did we have a reserved table(which we didn,t)however we were led to a table near the entrance to the restaurant. ordered garlic bread starter(we had heard the main meal portions were LARGE) i had solomillo cerdo(pork steak) fresh veg ,carrots and runner beans and chips. the pork was huge and perfect, melt in the mouth.P my partner had lamb chops(6) salad and chips and she said perfect too. 2 bottles of dorada each and the total cost was 31.13€. throughly enjoyed the whole meal, the cold dorada and the service was excellent.we will definately be going again.... soon . so Las Goteras Tejina De Guia 922 857056 closed on mondays open 12.00-16.00 and 19.00 -23.00 ish. would recommend that you reserve tables because the place was full within 30 mins of us getting there. i,ve holidayed here since 1985 and lived here now for near 2 years and i must say las goteras goes down in my book as 1st. numero uno. tops.

Up towards Guia de Isora ... the last little town you go through before you get to Guia if heading from Adeje.
