Dave and I have now spoken to Angus directly about this, and his view is that reviews are only meaningful if negative reviews are allowed. In this particular case, as we know, this is a brand new member with a single post which is the negative review, so there is clearly the possibility that it is malicious.

Anyone reading this review should bear this in mind.

Do not go to Chill-Out restaurant located in Playa las vistas, Los Cristianos, Tenerife. I was there last week during lunch enjoying a paella, it was good until I discovered a cockroach on the spoon!! disgusting, isnt´ it? the cooker did not apologize, neither the owner, the poor waitress was the only one who said sorry. They did not charge us the drinks, oh great... I did not eat anything that day anymore... when we asked them to do a complain they said they do not have the documents available... I do not recommend this place AT ALL!

With there having been a Calima last week it's possible that teh cockroach was blown in with it. It does happen with Calimas.

Sorry for your unfortunate incident


but i´ve eaten there many many times and the food is most certainly A1 & very good indeed, Even though the restaurant is situated on the beach front in Los Cristianos this restaurant is one of Tenerifes best, it´s extremely clean and the owner is a perfectionist


A note to all, there is most certainly no need to give this restaurant the wide birth previously expressed.

Then it does sound like a one-off, and roaches do get blown in during calimas: at the least it's possible, as Dude says. It's a most unfortunate thing to experience, and it would put anyone off, but I don't see that it's necessarily anything that the owners could have prevented.

I'm more concerned about the claim that the documents were unavailable for a complaint to be made. Maybe they thought the complaint was unfair and fibbed ... ?

9PLUS, if you eat there regularly, would you mind seeing if it's possible to check next time you're there?

I was going to say, is this an attempt from the timeshare deck above as i know they are not the most well behaved people and have caused the resturant some grief in the past.


The restaurants fine there´s nothing to worry about

As an aside I don't know anyone who keeps their apartment cleaner than we do and we had one in over the weekend when there was a Calima. So you'd better not ever come to our house as we are obviously disgusting by your reckoning.
