Default El Galleon

This is a little cafe next to the TF1 between the Adeje exit and the Hipertrebol supermarket - very visible from the motorway.

We went there for a lunch, to see what it was like. It offers a menu del dia for 7.50€.

My starter was a chickpea soup, which was utterly delicious and savoury, with a main course of carne en salsa (meat stew with chips). Loads of meat, and the usual delicious Canarian sauce/stew - not hot and spicy, with a million flavours. Postres was the standard helado (ice cream)

My partner had ensalada, followed by sama de plancha (grilled snapper & potatos) which she liked a lot.

With a pint for me and a couple of glasses of vino tinto for my partner, the total bill came to 15 euro (I asked "what about the drinks?" and the waitress said "No, todo 15€")

We ate at plastic tables, but outdoors under an awning, (without annoying music). All other customers appeared to be Canario/Spanish. Service was prompt and attentive.

In summary: for a traditional Canario meal at a Canario price, El Galleon is very easy to get to and offers no-nonsense food & service in a pleasant (smoking allowed) outdoor seating area. Nice for a lunch or brunch, and recommended for visitors as it's so easy to get to.

It really is good. Have been there too, and it's totally authentic.
