Good luck with your new venture, if you're not cooking in beef dripping you should be! You will get people flocking in.

It was always an ambition of mine to open a decent chippy in Tenerife and the Apollo is brilliant place to open, take a tip from me and try frying in 'Beef Dripping' obtainable from Henry Colbeck and Sons in the UK the brand is White Rose deodorised dripping and the only other advice is buy yourselves a Britling filter and make sure your frying medium is filtered and cleaned after each frying session. The end result will be lines and lines of customers!!!

How do I know? I opened one in the UK doubled the takings. Try to ge t hold of Hollands Pies and Puddings also!

Hi There! Sir Old Golfer

Well actually estate agent in Tenerife from '84 to '96 then chippy owner in '99for 6 months then we returned to the island where my two boys were born (Tenerife) got back into esate agency. I suppose you could say I like the one on one contact with my clients.

Getting back to beef dripping! You cannot beat it for frying fish and chips, the only problem i can foresee is you need decenct potatoes and as everyone knows Maris Pipers are the best potatoes for chipping!!!

Oh yes, forgot to mention from being 17 to 27 i also owned and ran a chain of fruit shops in the UK.

Best wishes
