Direct Telecom are offering what appears to be an excellent package..for 39.50.euros per month they are giving,
Up to 3MB ADSL.
National landline calls included.
300 minutes to European landlines included.
Intergrated Internet Telephony.
Super low cost call rates.
In my opinion that is an excellent package...hopefully it will get even better..once Telefonica lose the monopoly.
The line rental is still payable to Telefonica at the moment.
One thing that Mazoka forgot to mention is that Direct Telecom also offer an UK lo-call 0844 that connects directly to your Spanish landline number so friends and family back in the UK can call you at local rates.

With respect..I did not forget to mention that point..I took it for granted that most, if not all Direct Telecom clients would be aware of this..but as the saying goes "Take nothing for granted"!..as it has just been proved.

I have the Direct Telecom package at 38.50 Euros per month with 1Mb ADSL, I've now been waiting 6 months for them to upgrade to 3Mb, but I think they may have problems with Telefonica who, after all, provide the infrastructure for the service.

I have just spoken with Direct Telecom..they have said the total cost for their package..as mentioned in my earlier post..and the line rental would be..53.50 euros give or take a few cents...I think that when you take into account the overall saving people will make by using Direct Telecom's service's...and their first class service..I personally would not have a problem with that costing.

I am torn, I want to leave the 'beast' (telefonica) but am totally untrusting that it's that simple. Nothing is that simple in Tenerife, especially where telefonica is involved. I am sure they will c--k you up just out of spite!.
So how many members can post that they have transferred to Direct Telecom from telefonica and lived.
I cannot afford to be without the phone or internet for more that 24 hours.

The saving is not that much ...better the devil you know.... and Telefonica do the repairs, I may move,had the saving been substantial, but not till after September to I see what the Deal actually is,
