Canarias24Horas reports that the National Police have arrested 7 immigrants, two of them minors, who arrived at the Castillo del Romeral area of Gran Canaria in a patera at around 5 a.m. today. The patera landed under its own steam, and no lifeguard was involved.

One can safely assume that these 7 were not the only ones on board, so presumably the police arrived after most of the occupants had already fled inland.

A cayuco carrying 79 immigrants, 3 of which were possibly minors, arrived at Playa Santiago in La Gomera at 3am this morning. One of the 79 was taken to hospital, but the rest have been taken to the El Camello retention centre above San Sebastián, apparently in good health.

The craft was spotted very close to shore by the Ports Authority and the Guardia Civil were alerted, arriving at the port in time to find the occupants disembarking.

Hours after the arrival of the above cayuco in La Gomera, one arrived at Playa de las Vistas, Tenerife, with 59 males on board, 18 of which were possible minors. Two of the immigrants were taken to El Mojon hospital centre, but the remainder appear to have been in good health and after receiving immediate sustenance were transferred to the Comisaria in Playa de las Américas for processing.

Once again, it seems that the boat actually made it to shore, though its arrival had been previously noted.

A cayuco carrying 82 immigrants, of which 8 were probably minors, arrived at Los Cristianos at about 2.30 last night/this morning. The craft had been spotted about an hour earlier off Puerto Colón where it was intercepted and guided into the harbour.

This latest arrival means that over 200 illegal immigrants have arrived at the Canaries over the last 24 hours.

Canarias24Horas

EDIT> Four of the 74 adults on board have been identified as owners of the vessel and have been arrested by the Guardia Civil.

Seven of the immigrants have been taken to hospital centres suffering from hypothermia and dehydration, and two further were taken to Candelaria Hospital.

Two cayucos carrying at least 100 immigrants between them were spotted and intercepted earlier today to the south of Gran Canaria, and taken to be processed there. All seemed to be in reasonable health.

May save the government some money if they bought you a decent telescope and paid you to be a look out from your mansion. With the views that you have it should work

The numbers are now confirmed as 139 in total, 62 and 77 in each boat, 25 of which are suspected minors.
