The Canarian Health Minister, Mercedes Roldós, has announced that Sanidad is to bring forward its vaccination campaign for seasonal flu to 15 September so that it doesn’t coincide with the campaign for AH1N1 (swine) flu, commonly known here as Gripe A, which is expected to begin in November.
The Minister stressed that the Gripe A situation in Spain is stable, with 41 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, similar to other countries, and with the vast majority of cases comprising only mild symptoms.
Sra Roldós also confirmed that, despite much recent press speculation to the contrary, the school year will begin completely normally because there are no clinical nor epidemiological reasons to delay the academic season. JAA

As far as I know, they are just "Flu Jabs". You can get them from a health centre here if you are registered with a doctor. If not, you can buy them over the counter at a chemist and do it yourself - that's what I did last year. Or you could, I think, go to a doctor privately. If you did that, I guess the doctor may send you off to the chemist to buy the vaccine, then charge you a large sum for injecting it.

The AH1N1 flu vaccination campaign will begin on 16 November, after agreement was reached earlier today by the Inter-territorial Health Council. Give or take a day or two, the campaign will be co-ordinated throughout all of Spain’s autonomous regions.
Groups considered most at risk will be vaccinated first, including health workers, essential service workers, pregnant women and the chronically ill over 6 months of age. JAA
The AH1N1 (swine) flu campaign will begin tomorrow, 16 November. Already, 88 people have died in Spain from the virus. Health Centres throughout Spain will prioritize groups thought to be at risk, thought to account for around 20% of the population.
These are health and public sector workers, those with chronic cardiovascular and respiratory illnesses, diabetics, the morbidly obese, and those suffering from kidney problems, anaemia, and immunodeficiency conditions. Pregnant women also fall into this category, though these will have a particular form of the vaccine which does not have adjuvants, and which will be available within three or four days after medical authority approval. I'm not risking the AH1N1 jab ... the virus is known to attack the chest, so I'm not putting myself in the firing line after J's reaction to the normal jab.
