The Met Office, AEMet, has put north Tenerife on Yellow Alert for heavy rain this evening and tomorrow. The alert lasts until 6 pm tomorrow, and applies to the municipalities of La Orotava, Vilaflor and the whole of the North Coast. Up to 60 mm of rain is expected over the next 12 hours. AEMet
And raining it is!! If anyone was thinking of going along the TF-5 near Alcampo-La Orotava, don't! It's been cut off due to heavy rains.
In La Orotava, drains are overflowing and there's lots of flooding. Floods too in La Ferruja and Las Llanadas, La Guancha, Icod and Buenavista del Norte.
Roads affected by rain and/or rockfalls due to the rain are TF- 335 (Los Realejos), TF- 315 (Toscal Longuera), TF-342 (La Guancha), TF-82 (Armeñime- Icod) and TF- 430 (Masca).
Half hour delays reported in Los Realejos airport for inter-island flights.

Hundreds of drivers trapped in their cars in traffic jams stretching for kilometres. Now the TF-324 between Los Realejos and La Orotova is blocked too.
Some people feared trapped in their houses with the downstairs completely flooded. Emergency vehicles even unable to cope with the roads to get to them. Barrancos have overflowed. A La Orotava bombero said they were doing everything they could and more at the moment.
Reinforcement crews have been brought in from Santa Cruz, Icod de los Vinos and San Miguel.
