Default Fuel is to go down in Tenerife by around 10 cents a litre in the next few days.

The minister of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, Miguel Sebastián, said today that given the evolution in price of petrol in the last few days there is a margin for the price of fuel to come down over the next few days around 10 cents a litre.

According to the most recent data from the EU, the price after taxes of fuel in Spain has fallen by between 0.92 and 1.25 per cent in the first fortnight of September. Last Monday, a litre of Unleaded 95 was selling at 1.183€ and diesel at 1.185€ instead of 1.194 and 1.200 respectively on 1 September. In the same period, a barrel of Brent, the European point of reference, has gone from 109 to 92 dollars, a fall of 18.4%.

I have to say that I’ve noticed a fall in the cost of filling the Landrover from 50€ to 45€ over the past couple of weeks. Can’t wait for another 10 cents a litre to come off the price!

What makes me cross, is when oil prices rise, petrol goes up the next day without fail, when they drop, it takes weeks if indeed it is lowered at all to drop the price of petrol !

Not only is the cost of fuel going down but some companies are offering a full tank to loyal customers in Tenerife. Click here for details of how to claim it.
