A woman had a nasty accident today while paragliding from Taucho

A 23-year-old woman had to be rescued earlier today when she fell while paragliding from Taucho, in the hills above Adeje. She apparently broke her hip really badly. We saw the emergency helicopter ourselves which came to find her and transfer her to Los Rodeos airport, from where she was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital in La Laguna.

I heard it was Amy Whinehouse, can this be confirmed by anyone?. She is flying as high as a kite at the moment

I always fancied paragliding but knowing my luck I'd end up like the unfortunate lady in the OP or worse.

Maybe I'll give it a miss.

Where they land scares me. If they miss they will land on Hiper Trebol roof, the TF1 or among huge cactus :devil:

What about if they landed on your terrace while you were embedding?

I've seen them land very near the motorway, and one nearly landed on the clifftop in front of our apartment and then almost skidded down a very steep slope to land on the beach ... could have been very nasty, and like Flossie, that's what I imagine would happen to me

We had one land out side our fence in the cacti, I stood & watched like a bunny in the head lights, couldn't quite believe he was ok ( which he was )

Leaping off the top of jagged rocks with the direction sense of a badger does not really do it for me either

I did it a few years ago and it was an incredible experience, I was attached to someone who was doing the steering though

we landed in the area just behind Trebol and i caused much ammusement for my friends watching as I started running mid air about 2 mins before we landed
