A woman from the Adeje area has been arrested for the theft of 3,500 kilograms of watermelons
I know it sounds incredible, but the Guardia Civil has arrested a 34-year-old woman from the Adeje area on suspicion of stealing 3,500 kilograms of watermelons from two fincas in the Chimiche area. The vehicle she used to carry out the thefts was located in Cabo Blanco.
Apparently the woman sold the watermelons in various establishments through the south, especially in Buzanada and Los Cristianos.
The owners of the fincas noticed the reducing numbers of their crop on three separate days in September and made a denuncia, which resulted in the investigation which produced the arrest.

On reading the thread title, I assumed she had tried to steal them from Mercadona by stuffing them in her blouse.
