Two people who had hidden their faces with hoods attacked a woman who owned a bar in Abades as he locked up for the night. The attack happened a couple of days ago.
The robbers threatened the woman with knives when she resisted their attack, and it was extremely fortunate that a plastic object which she was carrying against her chest prevented her from actually being stabbed.
Given the violence employed, both assailants managed to make off with a bag containing the bar's takings.
The attackers might have known that Arico Local Police doesn't have a night service, and the Guardia Civil only has two patrols for San Miguel, Granadilla and Arico.
